Louis Tomlinson has unveiled his much-awaited single Out of My System, which serves as the second track from his forthcoming album Faith in the Future. The song brings yet another unique flavour to the upcoming album, with the music video posing as a throbbing, intensely red-hued, visually appealing masterpiece that preserves the essence of live music. 

Tomlinson announced the single on his social media by teasing a snippet of the song’s instrumentals, revealing the vocalist adapting something more tenacious and industrial rock-tinged, rather than the conventional pop sound. 

Style of The Single

The punk-rock single lies on the opposite end of the sonic spectrum from the album’s debut track, Bigger Than Me, and delves into realizing one’s greatest potential. Tomlinson hits his top-notch high notes whilst belting out the chorus, “Gotta get it out of my system,” backed by energizing and electrifying instrumentals that will get your head bopping immediately. 

Out Of My System is undoubtedly one of Tomlinson’s most aggressive, buoyant representations of his resurrection into the world of arena-ready, punchy pop-punk music, oozing his exuberant energy.

It reflects his perception of how his live shows would sound like. The instrumental-driven track, co-written by the 30-year-old singer with Nicolas Rebscher and Dave Gibson, is unparalleled and captivating and will halt you in your tracks as soon as you press the play button. 

Music Video

The single accompanies a pulsating, grainy-textured music video. Directed by Charlie Sarsfield, it graces roaring bass, guitar riffs, and drum percussions that create an exhilarating atmosphere, featuring Tomlinson and his bandmates jamming together in a room.

It exudes vintage vibes with its overexposed and burned portions that carry the album’s distinctive, vibrant red, warm tones.

The ferocious intensity and Tomlinson’s bold onstage persona are illustrated heavily in the video, which has a distinctive punk rock edge that gets your foot tapping. The only element missing is the boisterous, jubilant throng around the singer, which would have been nice to see.

Whilst recording the album, Louis Tomlinson had a core aim: ‘to produce a collection of songs befitting an anthemic live show’ — a task he’s risen to with aplomb.

He shows off his multi-faceted, prolific songwriting capabilities on the new album, thus establishing once again why he’s considered one of the most magnificent contemporary songwriters in the industry.

Aside from that, he successfully stays distinctly authentic across the entire genre-spanning record, which exudes confidence at every turn.

On his ambitious second effort, the 30-year-old has carefully created a collection of songs designed for live rousing onstage performances while simultaneously taking his artistry to new pinnacles. He has never been more confident in his artistic abilities, and he has every reason to be after uncompromisingly and wholeheartedly spreading his wings and blossoming on his head-turning new jaunt.

 

 

Louis Tomlinson is also embarking on the huge UK and European Arena tour for 2023. The tour will visit Europe from August to November next year, including a date at London’s O2 Arena.
