1. Scrapbooking

What better time than in Autumn when it’s wet and windy outside to cosy up and give those homeless photos you have shoved in a drawer a permanent home. The best bit is, you can be as creative as you want to be and they’re always lovely to look back on.

2. Organising

Yes, this job can be rather relentless but the end results are always something to be proud of. Whether it’s organising that drawer where you shove everything that doesn’t have a home (yes we all have one) or de-cluttering your clothes and sorting out what can be donated or sold, the end result is always satisfaction.

3. Walk

A walk is something that is so simple but really does wonders for your mental and physical health. Whether that be exploring where you live or branching out to somewhere new, there’s nothing better than wrapping up warm in Autumn and heading out, earphones in, world out.

4. Film Marathon/ Binge a Series

With the cold and dark nights, there’s nothing better than getting stuck into a new film or TV series. There’s something so cosy about snuggling up with a hot drink and some great snacks. Some series I’ve thoroughly enjoyed recently are The Fall, Normal People (obviously), Bates Motel, Sherlock, Des and Peaky Blinders.

5. Baking

There’s something so comforting about baking (and eating) what you produce. If you’re feeling extra generous you could always bake for family and friends. There’s nothing nicer than receiving a sweet treat, especially when contact and socialising is so limited these days.

6. Create a Spotify Playlist

If podcasts are not your thing when walking, then creating your own personalised spotify playlist is perfect. I often dedicate my playlists to how I am feeling . Music is a great source of help for my mental health, so if that is something that would help you, then I would recommend.

7. Reading

I believe Autumn is the perfect time to dive into that never ending reading list. Wandering around Waterstones is enough to make anyone want to become an avid reader.

8. Pamper Night

I am sorry, but what’s cosier than having a lovely hot bubble bath on a wet Autumn night? Face mask and Netflix on,  book in hand, candles lit. There is nothing better after a stressful day at work or plain and simple, if you just want to pamper yourself.

9. Facetime Family and Friends

I think during these current times keeping in contact with those you love and value is very important, especially if you live on your own. Whether it be to tell them about your day, maybe some news you’ve received, or whether you just need to chat to someone. Talking about how you are feeling is always important, especially during a pandemic.

10. Christmas Gifts

It is definitely the perfect time to get a head start on buying gifts for friends and family. I am that person that always leaves it until the last minute and always regrets it. So now would be the best time to start.
