With summer knocking at our door the fashionistas out there may have just started preparing their wardrobe for the warmer weather. From micro skirts and bright colors to Y2K fashion revival, these are the key fashion trends you should expect to see this season.

Miu Miu’s micro mini skirt

You probably have seen – or at least have heard – the viral Miu Miu’s micro skirt. The skirt was presented at the brand’s spring-summer fashion show last October. Since then the micro mini skirt has taken all the magazine covers and influencers looks.

Despite the fact that it has become a little bit overrated since the start of the spring, we may still be seeing it until the end of summer.

Neon Brights

According to Vogue, there is not the slightest excuse for neutrals; epecially after all the colorful looks that were shown during the spring-summer collections. Take Versace’s bright runway looks as an example of what you should expect.

Bold and highlighter colors are taking out the wardrobe, and they are set to be one of the hottest trends this summer. Tangerine, deep purple, hot pink and neon yellow are some of them. Take note: it’s particularly epic when worn head-to-toe.

Cut-Out

This may not be a totally new trend, but the cut-outs are still going through summer. However, this season the trend may be taken to a different level by the fashionistas. The little black dress will be taken over by a lot of cut outs. A perfect look for a hot summer night.

Underwear Outerwear

As pointed out by Glamour, summer 2022 sees underwear become a perfectly acceptable form of outerwear. A geometric bra or even a matching bikini top. Expect to abuse your bathing suit this season.

If you do it in the right way it could turn into a super chic look. Layering it beneath an open suit or shirt will be the most seen.

Y2K Revival

We can’t talk about summer fashion trends without mentioning the Y2K style. Whether you like it or not, the Y2K fashion is back. And we have been seeing this comeback for a while now. Just take a look at Hailey Bieber, Dua Lipa or Olivia Rodrigos’ Instagram feed and see for yourself.

The low-rise bottoms, butterflies on everything, asymmetric hemlines, and candy-colored sunglasses are some of the components of the 2000s girly look.
