Irish singer-songwriter, Erica-Cody, releases her hit single ‘Cry Baby’ with a sped-up twist that’s sure to be on your hot girl summer playlist this year.

Erica-Cody is no stranger to producing girl boss anthems – collectively her previous singles ‘Love Like This’ and ‘Back to Basics’ have over 90k streams on Spotify. After previously releasing the original take on ‘Cry Baby’ back in early February, the singer decided to take on a popular approach of speeding up her hit single.

CRY BABY (SPED UP)

This one’s dedicated to the time wasters that like to make you feel like you’re the problem,

‘Cry Baby (Sped Up)’, incorporates both eclectic styling and hard-hitting lyrics to provide listeners with an upbeat pop and R&B number. A self-love song, the single utilises its quicker pace to help listeners grow in confidence. If this single is any indicator that Cody is a lyrical, pop mastermind – I don’t know what is.

When discussing the single, Cody shares: This one’s dedicated to the time wasters that like to make you feel like you’re the problem, and then cry about it. When, in fact, you just know your worth.”

Cody further states how her music is a way of learning from her past experiences to teach others their well-being should always be a priority. Being an active advocate for mental health and well-being, Cody uses her social media platforms and career to educate young women.

AN INSPIRATION

An inspiration to all up-and-coming artists, Cody has produced and released her own music since age 19. Her latest project in collaboration with 40 of the most influential, female Irish singers,  ‘Irish Women In Harmony’, is a great example of how Cody is taking the industry by storm.

I’m excited to see where the future takes Cody, and for the upbeat anthems, she’s sure to surprise us all with.
