After the popular comeback of sibling boyband the Jonas Brothers, Nick Jonas has collaborated with his brothers once again in his new solo single, ‘Selfish’

The new single features on his new deluxe album, Spaceman; his first studio solo album since Last Year Was Complicated in 2016. During an interview with Apple Music, Jonas said that the title of the album was inspired by his experience during the pandemic.

“Spaceman came to mind as I was thinking, ‘what’s the one thing we’ve all felt during this time? Completely disconnected from the world.'”

When Jonas announced the new album, fans were quick to wonder what the future held for the Jonas Brothers. With a post on Instagram from Nick’s account, he reassured fans that the Jonas Brothers are “not going anywhere” after their recent return to the music industry together.

Chill vibes for any playlist

Known for his upbeat pop tracks such as ‘Jealous’ and ‘Levels’, ‘Selfish’ is a balanced mix of upbeat and chill vibes that could fit into any vibe playlist. It bears a similar feel to Jonas’ ‘Strangers’ released on the Jonas Brothers album, Happiness Begins, in 2019 with a variety of backing vocals that enhance the song’s relaxed feel.

Similarly, the lyrics represent the selfishness that comes with love and attraction, saying “I wanna be selfish for you and not for me” and “want all of you for me,” possibly hinting at his relationship with his wife, Priyanka Chopra.

Overall, the song has an easy vibe and will definitely be a popular song this summer. Whilst still maintaining the signature ‘Nick Jonas’ sound, it also incorporates the Jonas Brothers’ sound perfectly thanks to Joe Jonas’ vocals on the track. Although ‘Selfish’ has been released on his solo album, this song will definitely give fans a blast of nostalgia and excitement to possible future JoBros plans.
