Celebrity Big Brother UK returned to screens this month for the first time since 2018. But what happened during the first week of this highly-anticipated social experiment?

Launch Night

Celebrity Big Brother UK returned to ITV1 and ITVX on March 4th with an all-star cast. Entering the house were Heartstopper actor Bradley Riches, Coronation Street star Colson Smith, TV personalities David Potts and Ekin- Su Cülcüloğlu, TV presenter Fern Britton, Kate Middleton’s uncle Gary Goldsmith, Real Housewives‘ Lauren Simon, businessman and musician Levi Roots, showbiz manager Louis Walsh, West End star Marisha Wallace, Strictly Come Dancing professional Nikita Kuzmin and social media star Zeze Millz.

Sharon Osbourne entered the house as a Celebrity Lodger, revealing she would only be staying for one week.

Sharon and Louis were placed in a hidden room and given a secret task. They were told by Big Brother that throughout the evening, they would be watching the housemates make their entrances. Based solely on first impressions, they had to place three in the danger zone, putting them at risk of eviction. They picked David, Gary and Zeze, and Sharon then chose Gary to face the public vote.

Day Two

On the second day, the housemates all took part in the first task, BB Races. They were split into four teams which consisted of an owner, a jockey and a horse. The winners of the race were Lauren, Levi and Nikita.

They won themselves a party and were each allowed to choose another housemate to join. They chose Louis, Ekin- Su and David, with Sharon as Celebrity Lodger also in attendance.

Day Three

Housemates nominated for the first time. Lauren received the most nominations, meaning she was up for eviction alongside Gary.

Nikita, Bradley and Colson all received zero nominations.

Day Four

For the task on day four, the house was turned into Big Brother’s Celestial Retreat. Levi was appointed as the Guiding Eye for fellow housemates. They had to select a flower petal from a bowl and then read the question and choose another housemate to answer it, resulting in some meaningful responses and deep conversations.

Louis and Lauren were involved in a rule break for discussing nominations. As punishment, they were sent to the Celebrity Wheelie Bin Of Shame in the garden and had to remain there until they wrote a letter of apology to the other housemates.

Day Five

This was the day of the first live eviction. The public was not surprised to see Gary leave the Celebrity Big Brother House.

Day Six

For this week’s shopping task, housemates had to run Big Brother’s Police Department. Lauren was appointed Captain and Marisha as Deputy. Housemates had to investigate a crime scene and gather evidence, but David was given a secret mission to sabotage the task. He recruited Zeze to join him, and they had to follow several instructions in order to pass, including moving the clown’s body into the secret diner without being seen.

At the end of the task, Lauren had to choose the two housemates she thought were the bad cops. She incorrectly chose Bradley and Fern, who were then sent to jail in the garden. As David and Zeze remained undetected, the housemates passed the task and received a luxury shopping budget.

Day Seven

It was time for nominations again. This time Lauren, Louis and Zeze all received the most nominations.

Bradley Nikita and Colson once again received zero nominations.

As the Celebrity Lodger, Sharon watched the nominations live from her secret bedroom. After nominations, Sharon was asked to save one housemate from the public vote and replace them with someone else. She chose to save Zeze from eviction and instead put Fern in her place. Consequently, she was chosen to face the public vote alongside Lauren and Louis.

That’s a wrap on the first week of antics in the Celebrity Big Brother UK house — catch up with the series on ITVX to see what the housemates get up to next.
