Releasing their third album of the past four years, Blossoms have given the indie-pop scene another incredible record in the form of Foolish Loving Spaces.

Foolish Loving Spaces also includes a host of fan-favourite tracks including ‘Your Girlfriend’ and ‘The Keeper’, which I believe to sit at the highest rankings within their discography.

Amongst the 20 tracks that the Foolish Loving Spaces (Deluxe Edition) gives is ‘Pure Pop’. ‘Pure Pop’ has so far been extremely underrated in the reviewing industry, perhaps due to the overshadowing of pre-Foolish Loving Spaces hits that made it on to the album (such as those previously mentioned), but still inexcusable. ‘Pure Pop’ has proved a huge fan-favourite so far, with many on social media sharing their admiration and ‘obsession’ with the track based around the ending of a relationship.

“The days are long/You’re hanging on” is followed by “Let’s call it off” repeating endlessly in the outro of the track, symbolising the fading of this seemingly turbulent relationship.

The track has also been added to Spotify’s ‘The Indie List’ which is sure to introduce ‘Pure Pop’ to many new ears outside of the band’s beloved Stockport and hopefully lead to more awareness of one of the best rising indie-pop bands in the UK today.

Described by NME as “a band defying time” due to their ‘70s aesthetic, ‘80s vibes, and ‘90s emulating “Britpop and grunge” style mischief, Blossoms are a phenomenon that continues to release flawless record after flawless record.

Blossoms ‘Pure Pop’ is available via Universal Music Operations Limited.
